About this opportunity

The Maine Department of Conservation is requesting quotations for dimensional lumber for float construction and saltwater dock applications, with quotations due September 15, 2009 and delivery required by September 21, 2009. Tie bids favor in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.

The scope comprises 2,464 total pieces of lumber across multiple species and grades: Native White Cedar, Southern Yellow Pine with pressure treatment under CCA and Wolman CA-C 0.14 specifications, and Oak PAD materials. Line items range from 2x4x8' boards to 6x6x10' timbers, with the largest single item being 1,026 pieces of 2x6x12' Southern Yellow Pine pressure-treated lumber. Vendors must provide their own boom truck for off-loading at the Department of Conservation facility in Richmond, Maine (1009 Brunswick Road). Vendors must notify Bill Cunningham at 582-7845 at least 24 hours prior to delivery.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value considerations including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and award contracts to individual items or groups of items. Quantities may be increased or decreased by up to 10 percent at the state's discretion. Bids should exclude sales and use taxes. All transportation charges shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in award determinations. Quotations must be submitted to the Division of Purchases at 9 State House Station, Augusta, Maine, by the closing date and time.
