About this opportunity
The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting quotations for lumber and styrofoam supplies for the Department of Conservation in Richmond, with quotes due August 2, 2012.
The scope comprises two distinct line items. The lumber order includes 1,987 pieces of pressure-treated Southern Yellow Pine in multiple dimensions and grades (1 and 2), specified for saltwater dock applications: 1,436 pieces of CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) pressure-treated lumber ranging from 2x4x10' to 6x6x10' (plus one 3x6x20' oak piece), and 551 pieces of Wolman CA-C 0.14 or equivalent pressure-treated lumber from 2x4x10' to 4x6x6', plus 20 pieces of native white cedar. The flotation drums and tubs order specifies 180 pieces total: 156 pieces of 24"x96"x8" drums and 24 pieces of 48"x72"x16" drums, all with heavy single-wall thickness (0.150), one-piece rotational molded construction, foam-filled EPS (1.0–1.5 lbs. per cubic foot), virgin-grade polyethylene, UV inhibitors, and molded-in mounting flanges; both drum types must comply with Corps of Engineers Regulations 36 CFR Part 327. Delivery to the Department of Conservation facility at 1009 Brunswick Road, Richmond, Maine is required on or before September 7, 2012. The lumber order requires a boom truck for off-loading.
The previous lumber vendor was Viking Lumber (Route 1, Belfast, Maine). The previous flotation-drum vendor was Paris Farmer Union under Best Price Offer 04A, from January 2012.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Unit prices must be submitted for each item; delivery and all discounts must be included. The State will reject quotes lacking complete identification of alternate commodities and reserves the right to reject any or all quotes and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder. All questions must be submitted through the official Question and Answer link on the Solicitation Details View page.
