About this opportunity

Mercer County is requesting proposals for locksmith services and associated parts, with proposals due September 15, 2026. Vendors must hold active New Jersey licensure as required by N.J.A.C. 13:31A-1.1 et seq. — a mandatory qualification gate.

The scope spans repair, replacement, and installation of locking devices and access control systems across county departments. Required service capabilities include lock repair and obstruction removal, combination changes with documented records, keypad programming with user names and entry-time tracking, new and duplicate key preparation, door and door-jamb repair or replacement, hardware and door-closure apparatus repair or replacement, and ADA-compliant push bars and keyless entry systems. Vendors must also provide preventative maintenance services — inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of all locking hardware components during and after installation — upon request. Vendors must demonstrate training and resources to handle projects ranging from individual lock repairs to comprehensive, department-specific access control and security system deployments. Travel time is not compensable.

No estimated contract value, contract term, incumbent contractor, evaluation criteria weighting, or pre-proposal meeting date are stated in the solicitation. Questions due and other procedural deadlines beyond the September 15 proposal deadline are not specified in the source material.
