About this opportunity

Alvin College is requesting sealed bids for demolition and replacement of a lift station at its athletics field under IFB AC 26-097, with bids due February 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST and a mandatory site visit on February 13, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the Physical Plant building. Late bids are not accepted under any circumstances.

The scope encompasses demolition of the existing lift station adjacent to the baseball fieldhouse, complete replacement and installation of a new lift station system near the fieldhouse and concession stand, a minimum 2-inch continuous line to a manhole approximately 575 feet from the concession stand and 650 feet from the fieldhouse, a control box with pump-operation indicator light, and a pump with grinder adequate to evacuate sludge. The College prefers to retain the existing pump assembly if possible. An optional second bid item requests pricing for installation of two pumps within the same lift station. The contract term is one-time-only services.

Pricing must be quoted on an F.O.B. destination basis including shipping, handling, and related expenses, with no sales tax included. Unit prices govern in case of extension errors; bids subject to unlimited price increases will not be considered. All bids must remain valid for ninety days from the due date. Evaluation criteria include price, vendor reputation, quality, ability to meet College needs, past performance relationships, and long-term cost considerations.

Successful contractors must submit a certified insurance certificate within fifteen days of request, listing Alvin College as additional insured, with minimum coverage of $1 million Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability; $1 million per person and $2 million per occurrence for bodily injury, and $1 million per occurrence for property damage under Comprehensive General Liability; and $5 million Excess Liability. Contractors must provide three current customer references, comply with House Bill 1295 Certificate of Interested Parties requirements, and certify non-boycott of Israel per Texas Government Code Chapter 2270. Background and criminal history investigations may be required prior to service commencement for personnel with continuous on-campus duties.
