About this file

This Invitation for Bid (IFB) document from Alvin College's Purchasing Department solicits sealed bids for a lift station project at the institution's athletics field. The project encompasses the demolition of the existing lift station adjacent to the baseball fieldhouse and the complete replacement and installation of a new lift station system in the vicinity of the fieldhouse and concession stand. The scope includes furnishing and installing a minimum 2-inch continuous line from the lift station to a manhole located across campus (approximately 575 feet from the manhole to the concession stand and 650 feet to the fieldhouse), a control box with an indicator light to display pump operation status, and a pump with grinder adequate to evacuate sludge to the manhole. The College prefers to retain the existing pump assembly if possible. An optional second bid item requests pricing for installation of two pumps within the same lift station. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Physical Plant building. Sealed bids are due on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CST via email to aphillips@alvincollege.edu, with late bids not accepted under any circumstances. Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately following the deadline. The contract term is specified as one-time only services.

All bids must be submitted on original forms provided and remain valid for ninety days from the due date. Pricing must be quoted on an F.O.B. destination basis and include all costs such as shipping, handling, and related expenses, with no sales tax included. Unit prices shall govern in case of extension errors, and bids subject to unlimited price increases will not be considered. The College reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to award based on best value criteria including price, vendor reputation, quality, ability to meet College needs, past performance relationships, and long-term cost considerations. Contractors must submit an original certified insurance certificate within fifteen days of request listing Alvin College as additional insured, including Workers' Compensation ($1,000,000 minimum), Employers' Liability ($1,000,000 minimum), Comprehensive General Liability ($1,000,000 per person/$2,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury; $1,000,000 per occurrence for property damage), and Excess Liability ($5,000,000 minimum). Successful contractors must provide a reference list of three current customers, comply with House Bill 1295 Certificate of Interested Parties requirements, and certify non-boycott of Israel per Texas Government Code Chapter 2270. Background and criminal history investigations may be required prior to service commencement for contractors whose personnel will have continuous duties on campus.
