About this opportunity
The City of Bloomington, Illinois is soliciting bids for the Liberty Trail Resurfacing Project with a proposal due date of August 26, 2026 (six days from posting).
The scope encompasses mill and replace of 60,000 square feet of the main Liberty Trail (6,000 linear feet × 10 feet wide) and 4,600 square feet of entrance trail (460 linear feet × 10 feet wide), milled to 3 inches depth with slopes not exceeding 2% toward the south. Work includes one pedestrian bridge (28 feet × 20 feet) over the spillway between 3104 and 3106 Sable Oaks Road. The contractor must coordinate around one storm sewer manhole and one potable water shutoff within the work area. Additional deliverables are replacement of detectable warnings and sidewalk repairs at intersections, soil repair and grading extending 2 feet from the trail edge with reseeding, and replacement of all wooden trail bollards with 52-inch yellow polyethylene bollards.
The source does not provide estimated contract value, contract term, evaluation criteria weighting, incumbent contractor information, pre-bid meeting or site-visit dates, question deadline, or set-aside or preference eligibility constraints. The project is located in McLean County, Illinois.
The extremely compressed timeline (six days from posting to deadline) suggests this may be reposted or amended solicitation or an accelerated procurement cycle; bidders should confirm current deadlines and attached bid documents before undertaking full pursuit.
