About this opportunity
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking proposals for a two-year contract with a two-year extension option for lawncare and snowplowing services at the Muskegon Transportation Service Center (Muskegon TSC) in Muskegon County. The requested services include mowing, trimming, fertilizing, gutter cleaning, landscaping, snowplowing, shoveling, herbicide/weed application, spring and fall clean-up, and other related grounds maintenance activities for the 1.1-acre site. Bidders must be certified in specific Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) commercial pesticide applicator categories and comply with various administrative, staffing, and reporting requirements. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest price based on a pass/fail evaluation of the bidder's acceptance of the Statement of Work, completion of required forms, and acceptance of the Standard Contract Terms. Proposals are due by October 21, 2022, and the anticipated contract start date is December 1, 2022.
The contract opportunity is open to all qualified bidders, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The State reserves the right to disqualify a bidder, consider prior performance, and negotiate terms. The contract will require the successful bidder to obtain performance and lien bonds, and they will be subject to liquidated damages for late or improper completion of the work. The estimated annual value of the contract is not provided, but the State is not obligated to purchase the estimated quantities, as the actual services needed are weather-dependent.
