About this opportunity
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is seeking bids for a one-year base contract, with two optional one-year renewal periods, to provide Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) services in three geographic regions of the state. The selected LELs will be responsible for promoting traffic safety initiatives, recruiting law enforcement partners, coordinating marketing and outreach, and providing expertise and guidance on enforcement programs. Bidders must have at least five years of relevant experience and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. The LELs will be paid an hourly rate commensurate with their experience and the geographic region, and will receive holiday pay and discretionary time off. KDOT will reimburse the LELs for eligible expenses on a bi-weekly basis. Bids are due by August 29, 2024, and KDOT will evaluate and award the contracts based on the best interests of the state.
The RFP includes a Bidder Preference Program and a Disabled Veteran Owned Business bidder preference program. Bidders are also encouraged to take steps to discourage human trafficking as part of their bid response. Pricing terms, funding sources, and incumbent information are not provided in the RFP. The contract will be subject to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and grant requirements, including nondiscrimination provisions and federal funding accountability measures.
