About this opportunity

The Georgia Building Authority is requesting bids from licensed General Contractors for the Law Building Parking Deck Repair Project at 244 Washington Street, SW, Atlanta, with bids due April 8, 2022 (ITB No. 900-22-1018). A mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk-through is scheduled for February 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., with RSVP required to sean.treadaway@gba.ga.gov.

All bidders must be licensed General Contractors and provide examples of three previous projects of similar scope to be considered for award. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk-through is a condition of eligibility.

The scope covers comprehensive repairs to a cast-in-place concrete parking deck with a beam and pan joist/slab system, including patching of spalled concrete, cleaning and patching of exposed reinforcement, epoxy-injection in cracks penetrating the full depth of concrete slabs and members, and repairing or replacing deteriorated existing patches. Bidders must perform a thorough structural inspection with attention to typical deficiencies noted in the structural documents before submitting cost estimates and work plans. Shoring work must be engineered as part of the project scope. The parking deck will be closed to the public during construction; two spaces outside the roll-up door are designated for contractor dumpster use and worker parking. No specific time schedule for completion is imposed, and contractors may work any hours. Pricing must cover repairs specifically identified in the provided plans, with optional line-item pricing for additional repairs beyond the base scope.

Questions are due March 3, 2022, with answers posted on the Georgia Procurement Registry by March 10. The proposed project start date is May 16, 2022. The project has been awarded to Metro Waterproofing, Inc., located at 2935 Alcove Drive, Scottdale, Georgia.
