About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Corrections cancelled its RFQ for a laundry utility press on February 15, 2022 due to inadequate bidder response — only one bid was received and that bidder was deemed non-responsible.
The solicitation, posted January 19, 2022, sought a supplier to provide a laundry press unit with delivery, setup, and staff training for use across GDC's 61 facilities statewide, including state prisons, transitional centers, probation detention centers, and substance abuse treatment facilities. The scope included a specification sheet (attached but not reproduced in the cancellation notice). The procurement was structured to establish an open agency contract.
GDC indicated its intent to conduct a new solicitation with revised bid forms and requirements. All materials submitted under the cancelled solicitation will remain closed until a successful rebid is completed. Upon issuance of a Notice of Intent to Award for any subsequent solicitation, procurement records will be made available in accordance with Georgia's public access provisions. Interested suppliers are invited to participate in future solicitation efforts.
