About this opportunity

The Borough of Lansdowne has issued a procurement opportunity for the 2026 Road Program, soliciting sealed proposals through the PennBid Program for comprehensive road infrastructure improvements. The project encompasses multiple critical road rehabilitation and infrastructure enhancement activities, including roadway milling work spanning 4,790 square yards, 6,095 square yards of Superpave mixture wearing course overlay across several streets (Belmont, Glentay, Walsh), and 395 tons of Superpave mixture base repair. Additional project components include 220 cubic yards of base course demolition, installation of sixteen ADA-compliant ramps, six paving stop bar markings, and potential add-alternate work such as three traffic calming speed humps and two stormwater management inlets. Sealed bids must be submitted online by Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with each bid requiring a certified check or bid bond equaling at least ten percent of the total bid amount. Bidding documents are available at no cost on www.PennBid.net, and contractors must adhere to Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates throughout the contract period.

The procurement opportunity does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The Borough Council reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals, in whole or in part, and to waive any bidding informalities. Successful bidders will be required to pay a PennBid fee ranging from 0.003333% to between $100-$5,000 based on the contract's awarded value. The project covers infrastructure improvements in Delaware County, specifically within the Lansdowne Borough jurisdiction. While no specific budget range is provided, the comprehensive scope of work—including road milling, overlay, base repairs, ADA ramp installations, and potential stormwater management improvements—suggests a substantial municipal infrastructure investment. Prospective bidders should carefully review the complete bid documentation and demonstrate capability in municipal road reconstruction and infrastructure enhancement projects.
