About this opportunity

Walton County Board of County Commissioners is requesting bids for landscape maintenance services along U.S. Highway 98 between Mack Bayou Road and West County Highway 30A under ITB #26-21, with bids due August 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on August 11, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Local vendor preference applies under Walton County Purchasing Policies and Procedures (PP017).

The scope includes routine landscape maintenance for right-of-way areas: grass mowing, ditch maintenance, string trimming, sidewalk edging, debris cleanup, litter removal, and vegetation control across roadside grass, shoulders, drainage ditches, sidewalks, shared-use paths, and areas around signs and utility poles. Services are required twice monthly (first and third weeks). The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, vehicles, fuel, materials, supervision, safety devices, and disposal services.

The base bid line item is 24 routine maintenance cycles per year. Bidders must submit unit prices for additional off-cycle mowing and maintenance services. An alternate bid item for median landscaped bed maintenance is included for pricing purposes only and may be added via future Work Order or Change Order at the submitted unit price. All applicable taxes and fees must be included in pricing.

The contract term is two years from the date of complete execution, with an option for renewal for up to two additional one-year periods at the County's sole discretion. Bid security of five percent of the total bid price is required, submitted as a certified bank check or bid bond.

Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of three years of continuous experience in commercial or governmental landscape maintenance services and hold valid FDACS commercial pesticide applicator licenses if performing herbicide or pesticide applications. Award will be made to the lowest, most responsible and responsive bidder. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and may reduce the scope of services if the apparent low bid exceeds available budget. Bids must be submitted electronically via the County's e-Procurement Portal.
