About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Two Procurement Office, is soliciting bids for Lake City Maintenance Sign Washing services across Baker, Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee, and Union Counties. This procurement seeks a contractor to provide comprehensive sign washing services for approximately 8,000 sign panels per work cycle, with a total of 48,000 panels over a three-year contract period. The primary objective is to clean sign faces using water and mild detergent without pressure washing, aimed at prolonging sign life and improving visibility. Bidders must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketPlace system and demonstrate a minimum of three years of experience in similar services through a completed Minimum Qualifications Statement. Technical questions are due by October 31, 2025, with sealed bids required by November 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM, followed by a public bid opening at 2:30 PM at the FDOT District 2 Headquarters in Lake City, Florida. The contract includes six total work cycles, with payment made upon satisfactory completion of each cycle and potential renewal options contingent on performance evaluations and fund availability.
The procurement includes specific compliance requirements with various civil rights and non-discrimination statutes, ensuring equal opportunity for all potential bidders. Contractors must maintain a general liability insurance policy with coverage of at least $200,000 per person and $300,000 per occurrence. Liquidated damages will be assessed at 1% of the total work document amount for each day beyond the 45-calendar-day completion window. While no specific set-aside designations are mentioned, the bid documents emphasize adherence to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other federal non-discrimination regulations. The solicitation covers services across multiple counties, suggesting a regional approach to sign maintenance. Although no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the contract covering multiple counties and multiple work cycles indicates a potentially significant contract value. The procurement process is open to qualified bidders who can meet the technical and insurance requirements outlined in the invitation to bid.
