About this opportunity
Long Beach Public Utilities Department is requesting bids for laboratory materials and supplies under ITB UD-25-239, with bids due March 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (extended from March 13 via Addendum 2 posted March 14). The scope encompasses 402 line items of consumables, standards, reagents, equipment, and supplies for water quality testing and analysis, with detailed part-number specifications provided in Addendum 1 (posted March 6).
Bidders must be authorized distributors or dealers in business for at least three years and must have been in continuous operation providing laboratory materials and supplies for that full period. Local preference of five to ten points applies to Long Beach-based businesses holding current city business licenses and seller's permits.
The contract term is twelve months from award with two optional one-year renewal periods by mutual agreement; price increases during renewals are capped at ten percent annually. Delivery is required to the LBPUD Treatment Plant at 2950 Redondo Avenue, Long Beach, California 90806, with all delivery costs and California sales tax (10.25%) included in the bid total. Unit prices drive award decisions, and quantities are subject to variation based on actual departmental need. All materials must be new and unused, with twelve-month warranties and defective-item correction required within five working days at no cost to LBPUD.
Bidders must submit customer references, product data sheets, non-collusion statements, proof of business licensing, and Equal Benefits Ordinance compliance certifications. A bid bond equal to ten percent of the bid amount is required. Questions were due March 4, 2025; answers posted March 6. The Board reserves the right to award to single or multiple suppliers or to reject all bids.
