About this opportunity
The City of La Junta, Colorado is seeking bids for the City Park Tennis/Pickleball Hybrid Court Project (Bid #25-005), located within a National Historical Site in Ouray County. The procurement involves the complete removal of three existing tennis courts and the construction of three new tennis/pickleball hybrid courts, with a critical requirement to coordinate closely with the National Historical Society to ensure appropriate site preservation. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, and can be submitted via email or through BidNet Direct. The project specifications include engineer-stamped design drawings, a perimeter asphalt beam and fence, installation of 2" fine grade sand using laser-guided equipment, and application of acrylic color surfacing. Bidders must follow specific submittal procedures, demonstrate compliance with equal opportunity clauses, safety regulations, and provide necessary insurance documentation. Evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the provided documents, but the city reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will retain a percentage of each periodic estimate until final project completion.
The procurement appears to be open to all qualified contractors, with no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises mentioned in the documentation. Bidders will be required to provide various certifications, including non-discrimination compliance and verification of legal work status. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the complexity of working on a National Historical Site and the comprehensive court reconstruction suggest a substantial project investment. The city has not indicated any incumbent vendors or existing technology requirements for integration. Contractors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in court construction, historical site preservation, and ability to meet the detailed specifications outlined in the bid documents. The project represents a significant infrastructure improvement for the City of La Junta, focusing on creating modern recreational facilities while maintaining the historical integrity of the site.
