About this opportunity
Kennesaw State University (a constituent institution of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from fire sprinkler system repair and maintenance contractors via RFQ, with qualifications due September 2, 2026, and written questions due August 10, 2026.
Contractors must be regularly engaged in water-based fire protection system services, hold a minimum of five years of organizational experience, maintain all required Georgia licenses and certifications, and deploy personnel with at least three years of direct field experience. A lead technician or project manager must possess at least five years of supervisory experience and demonstrated familiarity with NFPA 25. The contractor must maintain 24/7 emergency service capability with phone acknowledgment within 30 minutes and on-site response within two hours during business hours and four hours after-hours for critical conditions.
The scope covers comprehensive maintenance, repair, emergency response, and documentation services for water-based fire protection systems — including wet pipe, dry pipe, preaction, deluge, standpipe, hose systems, fire pumps, private fire service mains, and backflow prevention assemblies — across multiple university campuses in compliance with NFPA standards and Georgia Fire Code requirements. Services encompass inspection and testing, impairment management, and regulatory reporting.
The maximum aggregate contract value is $100,000 for all task order agreements combined. The anticipated contract term is one year with up to four one-year renewal options, contingent upon satisfactory performance and fund availability. Renewal-year rate increases are capped at 5% annually and subject to University approval. Pricing shall use provided cost sheet structures covering labor rates (project managers, lead technicians, sprinkler technicians, and fire pump technicians, differentiated between regular and after-hours work), unit pricing for common repairs and parts, contractor markups for subcontractors, emergency mobilization charges, and lift equipment premiums.
The Selection Committee will issue a shortlist by September 10, 2026, followed by in-person interviews on September 14–15, 2026. Written answers to submitted questions will be provided by August 26, 2026. Submit questions to Alex Lehocky, Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, Environmental Health and Safety, alehock1@kennesaw.edu.
