Jackson County, Missouri is soliciting bids for Kitchen Equipment Repair Services through Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 26-032, with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office Detention Center as the procuring agency. The County seeks a qualified supplier to provide a twenty-four (24) month term contract with one optional twelve-month extension for preventative maintenance and repair services on commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, freezers, steamers, dishwashers, ice machines, walk-in coolers, hood systems, and related items located at the detention facility. The successful contractor must perform work within the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area, defined as eight counties: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Lafayette, and Ray counties in Missouri, plus Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. Bidders must provide hourly wage rates for three service categories: regular time work (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday), weeknight/overtime (4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday), and weekend/overtime/holiday service (4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Friday through Monday, including county observed holidays). Required qualifications include a minimum of five years' experience providing similar services for other municipalities, current federal, state, and local licenses, enrollment in federal work authorization programs, and non-debarred status. The contractor must provide around-the-clock service for critical equipment failures, maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance and repairs, and obtain a Certificate of Compliance from the Jackson County Compliance Review Office at least five (5) business days prior to bid submission. Bids must be submitted electronically through the Jackson County Bonfire Portal by 2:00 p.m. Central Time on May 26, 2026, with questions submitted by 5:00 p.m. Central Time on May 19, 2026, and bids remain binding for ninety (90) calendar days following the response deadline.

Compliance with Jackson County Code Chapter 6 regarding Minority, Women, and Veteran Business Utilization may be required, and bidders must disclose any minority-owned business (MBE), women-owned business (WBE), or small business classifications if applicable. The County reserves preference for commodities manufactured, produced, or grown in Missouri when quality is equal or better and delivered price is the same or less. Contractors must maintain commercial general liability insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 annual aggregate, commercial automobile liability insurance with $1,000,000 combined single limit, workers' compensation per Missouri statutory requirements with employers' liability of $500,000 each accident, and excess/umbrella liability coverage of $1,000,000. No incumbent vendor or current contractor information is specified in the solicitation documents. Jackson County estimates annual spending of approximately $50,000 for kitchen equipment repair services under this contract, with replacement parts exceeding $500 requiring separate authorization and billing. Price increases are not permitted during the first six months of the contract term; thereafter, increases may be requested only when they apply to the general public and are officially stated in writing. Fuel surcharges are permitted when increases apply to the general public and supporting documentation is submitted.
