About this opportunity

The State of Illinois intends to extend an emergency Joint Purchase Master Contract (22-416CMS-BOSS4-P-30786) for the procurement of drugs and pharmaceuticals to be purchased on an as-needed basis during the contract period by the Illinois Department of Human Services and Illinois Department of Public Health. The original emergency contract was awarded to Cardinal Health 110, LLC for a term of October 1, 2021 through December 29, 2021 for an estimated $25 million. Due to a protest that stayed the award of the new solicitation (B-22340) and the inability to extend the prior contract further, this emergency extension is required to ensure no lapse in service. The extension is for the period of December 30, 2021 through February 28, 2022 for an estimated $17 million.

The state has worked with the Business Enterprise Program to set an appropriate 9% goal for minority, women, and persons with disability participation, up from 8% in the prior solicitation. The state determined it was in the best interest to cancel the prior solicitation and rebid in order to further encourage participation from diverse suppliers. The new rebid, 22-416CMS-BOSS4-B-25474, is currently in progress with a bid opening scheduled for 11/30/2021. Funding for both the original emergency contract and the extension will be from state appropriated funds.
