About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is requesting proposals for dietitian services at the Illinois Veterans Home Manteno facility, with proposals due September 8, 2026 and all questions due September 2 to travis.kutemeier@illinois.gov. The contract runs upon execution through June 30, 2027, with no subcontracting permitted.
The scope requires a registered Illinois-licensed dietitian available for a minimum of 22 hours per month, not to exceed 8 hours per week, during Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding State holidays. Services include implementing nutrition programs, conducting dietary operations assessments, developing nutrition care plans, reviewing and revising resident menus quarterly, conducting kitchen inspections, and providing quarterly in-service education. The vendor must submit a resume, proof of current Illinois licensure, and a certificate of insurance prior to commencing services.
The vendor must maintain general commercial liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and workers' compensation insurance as required by law, with the State named as an additional insured. The contract pricing is estimated, with the maximum amount to be entered by the State prior to execution. Invoices must be submitted by July 31 following the fiscal year of service. Payment is made in accordance with the Illinois Prompt Payment Act; vendors awarded contracts of $1,000 or more are subject to a $15 minority contractor initiative fee deducted from the first check. The State retains the right to terminate for cause with written notice to cure, for convenience with 30 days' notice, or if appropriations become unavailable. Funding is provided through General Revenue (001). No small business set-asides or minority/women/veteran-owned business preferences are indicated.
