The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is requesting bids for demolition and removal of improvements, structures, and encumbrances in right-of-way and easement areas associated with the I-75 at CR 312/Bethlehem Road Interchange Project (PI #0017182) in Henry County, with bids due July 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. This solicitation is restricted to firms currently holding GDOT prequalification status in the Right of Way Property Management service class E-3 (Demolition); bids from non-prequalified firms will not be considered.

The scope includes removal of all piping, pumps, filter devices, and mechanical equipment at a water feature/pond; removal of two 24-inch diameter inserts from a concrete pond retainer; removal of a 100-foot hose near the water diffuser; removal of electrical supply and wiring at the pond; and removal of four ground-based light fixtures with associated wiring and conduit. Asbestos inspection reports dated June 11, 2026 indicate no regulated asbestos-containing materials were detected in bulk samples. All demolition debris must be properly disposed of in accordance with Georgia's Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act.

The contract term is thirty days from the Notice to Proceed. Award will be made to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder. Work must commence within two weeks of Performance and Payment Bond submittal, with a penalty of $500 per day for delays beyond the thirty-day period. The contractor must submit a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100 percent of the total bid price within ten business days of receiving the Notice of Intent to Award, along with a Certificate of Insurance documenting Commercial General Liability coverage of $1 million per occurrence and $3 million general aggregate, Workers' Compensation coverage, and Automobile Liability coverage of $1 million combined single limit, with GDOT named as an additional insured. Questions are due July 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. A communication restriction is in effect; respondents may not communicate with GDOT staff about the solicitation or scope except through submitted questions, and violation may result in rejection of the bid.
