About this opportunity

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is requesting bids for demolition and removal of improvements, structures, and encumbrances in right-of-way and easement areas in Fannin County, Georgia (Project PI# 621340) under ITB-48400-RWPROPMGMT000672, with bids due June 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. This procurement is restricted to firms currently holding GDOT prequalification status in the E-3 Demolition service class — a mandatory eligibility filter.

The scope encompasses complete demolition and proper disposal of miscellaneous structures across nine parcels, including CMU stone-veneered columns, wood fencing (approximately 325 linear feet), business signs ranging from 4 feet by 4 feet to 8 feet by 10 feet, entrance structures with brick panels and granite-topped columns, security lights, telephone poles used as parking curbs, and air/vacuum machines. All work must be completed within thirty days of receiving the Notice to Proceed.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on a single-firm basis. The Performance and Payment Bond requirement has been updated and must equal 100 percent of the total bid price, due within ten business days of the Notice of Intent to Award. Insurance requirements include Workers Compensation (statutory), Commercial General Liability at $1,000,000 per occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate, and Automobile Liability at $1,000,000 combined single limit, with GDOT named as additional insured. A daily penalty of $500 applies for work extending beyond the thirty-day completion period. Failure to commence work within two weeks of posting the Performance and Payment Bond or failure to meet the deadline may result in contract termination and removal from the prequalified contractors list for one year.

Questions are due June 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST. A communication restriction is in effect — respondents may not contact GDOT staff regarding the solicitation except through formal question submission. Bid responses must be submitted electronically in PDF format to SpecialProjectsProcurement@dot.ga.gov and Tcrowder@dot.ga.gov.
