About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB-48400-RWPROPMGMT000469) for Demolition and Removal of Improvements in Right of Way or Easement Areas, specifically targeting prequalified contractors for property management services. This solicitation is exclusively open to firms currently holding prequalification status from GDOT for Right of Way Property Management Services, with the procurement focused on demolition and removal of structures in Morgan County. The primary objective is to select the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for completing demolition services, which includes removing residential improvements, structures, and associated site features. Contractors must be prequalified through GDOT's specific process, with interested parties required to visit www.dot.ga.gov to obtain necessary prequalification certificates before bidding. The bid is due on March 13, 2025, with a strict communication restriction in effect from the advertisement date until a successful respondent is selected, prohibiting direct communication with GDOT staff except through specified channels.
The procurement has specific set-aside designations and participation goals, including a 15% overall annual goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation, with a focus on small, minority, and female-owned businesses. Bidders must be prepared to submit a Performance and Payment Bond for 100% of the total bid price and maintain specific insurance coverages, including Workers' Compensation and Commercial General Liability. Additional compliance requirements include certification as a drug-free workplace and adherence to the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act. Contractors must also be prequalified in specific service classes such as Asbestos Abatement (E-2) and Demolition (E-3), demonstrating technical expertise in complex removal projects. While a specific contract value is not explicitly stated, the project involves demolishing a 1,780 square foot residential property and is anticipated to have a contract term of approximately 30 days following the Notice to Proceed, with comprehensive environmental and regulatory compliance expectations.
