About this opportunity
Citrus County, Florida has issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-052 for Sod & Sodding Services, seeking vendors to furnish and place sod per Florida Department of Transportation specifications for county rights-of-way maintenance. The procurement covers sod for disturbed areas related to road, bridge, and drainage system repairs and construction, with a preference for 400 sq ft pallets and acceptance of 10 sq ft rolls with bio-degradable netting within three years. Bidders must demonstrate at least one year of commercial sodding experience and provide unit pricing for different sod types (Bahia, St. Augustine, and Bermuda) including pickup, delivery, and installation options. Key procurement dates include a bid issuance on November 23, 2024, questions due by December 16, 2024, and bid submissions required by December 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with a public opening via Microsoft Teams. Evaluation will consider pricing, experience, and compliance with detailed specifications, with anticipated board approval and contract award scheduled for March 4, 2025.
The contract offers a two-year initial term with potential renewal for three additional one-year periods, contingent on performance and funding availability. While no specific set-aside designations are mentioned, the county emphasizes local workforce hiring and will collaborate with CareerSource CLM to support community employment, though participation is not mandatory. Vendors must register with the county's OpenGov Procurement system and provide comprehensive insurance coverage, including $1,000,000 commercial general liability, $1,000,000 automobile liability, workers' compensation, and cyber liability. The county has budgeted approximately $65,000 for this project, with flexibility to adjust based on funding availability. Pricing adjustments are limited to the annual consumer price index (CPI) or 5%, whichever is less, with requests requiring written submission and manufacturer documentation at least 90 calendar days prior to renewal periods. Deliveries will be F.O.B. Destination Point to the County Area 4 Satellite in Lecanto, FL, or other designated work sites within Citrus County.
