About this opportunity

Tallahassee Community College's Wakulla Environmental Institute (TCC WEI) is seeking bids for the construction and delivery of 1,000 high strength concrete domes for an oyster reef restoration project in Oyster Bay, Florida. The concrete domes must meet specific requirements, including a compressive strength greater than 6,000 psi, a 21.5-inch height, a 38-inch wide half-spherical shape, and 8-10 four-inch holes with a stainless-steel hook for attaching a hemp net. The project must be completed within 9 months of the signed contract or by February 29, 2024, whichever is earlier. Proposals are due by April 28, 2023, at 1:45 pm EST, with the proposal opening scheduled for the same day at 2:00 pm EST. Evaluation criteria include price, design, delivery date, and certification as a minority, woman, or veteran-owned business, with the contract being awarded to the proposer whose offer is determined to be in the best interest of TCC.

The state of Florida and Wakulla County are the procuring agencies for this opportunity. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the Invitation to Bid (ITB) does not list any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The budget for the project is not explicitly stated, but the required specifications and quantities suggest a significant investment in the oyster reef restoration effort.
