The procurement opportunity involves replacing the majority of the building's HVAC and mechanical equipment, including electric heat pumps for heating and cooling, boiler replacements, HRV ventilation equipment, air handling units, ductwork, and system controls. Additionally, the project requires extensive insulation and air sealing work for walls, floors, ceilings, attic areas, windows, and doors. Bid documents will be available electronically after November 18th, 2025, and can be obtained by contacting Centerline Architects & Planners via email or phone. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25th at 9:00 am at the library location, which contractors are strongly encouraged to attend. Potential bidders must submit any questions via email by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9th, with final proposals due no later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. Proposals can be submitted either as hardcopy in a sealed envelope at the library or electronically to specified email addresses.

While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor types were explicitly mentioned in the procurement notice, the project appears open to a wide range of contractors with relevant expertise in HVAC, mechanical systems, and building insulation. No incumbent vendor information or existing infrastructure integration requirements were specified in the documentation. The solicitation indicates that the owner reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, suggesting a competitive selection process. Though no specific budget range was provided, the comprehensive nature of the project—involving extensive HVAC replacement, mechanical equipment upgrades, and building envelope improvements—suggests a substantial investment in modernizing the Bennington Free Library's facilities. Interested contractors should carefully review the bid documents and ensure they can meet the technical specifications and project requirements before submitting a proposal.
