About this opportunity
The City of Orlando is seeking a qualified contractor to provide Interior Plant Maintenance services for two primary municipal facilities: City Hall and Amway Center. The procurement, identified as RFQ24-0312, requires a comprehensive plant maintenance contract involving the care and maintenance of live plants across approximately 80 plants with varied specifications. The contractor must furnish all necessary labor, materials, supplies, equipment, and supervision to perform monthly maintenance services, with a requirement for consistent personnel who are experienced, courteous, and skilled in plant maintenance. The contract term is initially one year, with potential for four additional twelve-month renewals, creating a possible five-year service agreement. Key procurement dates include a question cut-off on April 19, 2024, and a response deadline of April 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with electronic submissions required through the city's e-Procurement Portal. Evaluation criteria will likely include the contractor's demonstrated experience, local service capabilities, technical qualifications, and ability to meet the detailed plant maintenance specifications outlined in the Exhibit 1 Plant Inventory List.
While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions were explicitly mentioned, the solicitation indicates stringent qualification requirements for potential contractors. Respondents must provide detailed documentation including their DUNS number, minimum three years of plant maintenance experience, local technical assistance capabilities, and appropriate insurance coverage. The pricing structure includes monthly service line items for City Hall and Amway Center maintenance, with an additional line for plant replacement discounts. Though a specific budget range was not disclosed, the contract appears to be a comprehensive service agreement requiring specialized horticultural expertise. Contractors must be prepared to maintain diverse plant types including Foxtail, Bird-of-Paradise, Rhapis, Aglaonema, Phoenix Roebelenii, Cordyline, Croton Petra, and various palm varieties across different facility locations and levels. The city emphasizes continuity of service, requesting that the same maintenance crew perform services throughout the contract period to ensure consistent plant care and familiarity with site-specific conditions.
