About this opportunity

The City of Tampa Police Department is pursuing a single-source procurement for an extended warranty for FLIR 380HDc camera systems utilized on their helicopter fleet. The solicitation, numbered 25-X-01686, seeks an authorized manufacturer's distributor or dealer capable of providing comprehensive warranty services, maintenance, and repairs for highly complex camera systems. These systems include daytime cameras, long-range spotter scopes, infrared cameras, and infrared laser illuminators that have been strategically standardized across multiple aircraft to facilitate interchangeability during maintenance. Vendors must confirm their ability to provide requested services and upload documentation proving their authorized status for FLIR products. The procurement opportunity is located in Hillsborough County, Florida, with a posted date of August 4, 2025, and a response deadline of August 7, 2025. Vendors must meet extensive insurance requirements, including Commercial General Liability insurance with $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate limits, Automobile Liability insurance of $1M combined single limit, and Worker's Compensation coverage as mandated by Florida law.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, the procurement appears to be focused on technical capability and manufacturer authorization. The solicitation implies that only authorized FLIR product vendors with proven technical expertise in maintaining these specialized camera systems will be considered. The systems require multiple maintenance and repair interventions annually due to their intensive operational usage, suggesting a potential need for ongoing, long-term service capabilities. Although no specific budget range is provided, the comprehensive insurance requirements and technical complexity suggest a potentially significant contract value. The procurement is specifically tailored to the City of Tampa Police Department's unique operational needs, with a clear emphasis on maintaining the reliability and interoperability of their helicopter-mounted camera systems through an extended warranty arrangement with a qualified vendor.
