About this opportunity

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) has issued a Notice of Agency Decision to Enter into Negotiations for a contract involving track sports equipment and athletic field construction services, specifically for a running track project. This procurement, originally designated as RFP-26-039 and reissued as IN-26-081, is targeting commodity codes 49161700 (Track Sports Equipment) and 72153106 (Athletic Field Construction Service). The solicitation covers the construction and installation of a running track, with FSDB intending to negotiate directly with Nidy Sports Construction after receiving fewer than two responsive proposals, as permitted under Florida Statute 287.057(6). The procurement period is scheduled from January 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM through January 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with all inquiries to be directed to Christine Skaggs via email at skaggsc@fsdbk12.org. Potential respondents should note that phone calls are not accepted for competitive solicitation inquiries, and any protests must be submitted in writing within 72 hours of the Intent to Award notification, with formal written protests required within ten days thereafter.

The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types. While no precise budget range is provided, the contract appears to be for a specific running track construction project located at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Johns County. The procurement process allows for direct negotiation with Nidy Sports Construction to establish the most favorable contract terms and conditions. Protests are governed by Florida Statute 120.57(3) and may require a protest bond in accordance with Florida Statute 28-110-005. The agency is located at 207 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida 32084, and the contract appears to be focused on sports infrastructure improvement for the educational institution. No incumbent vendors or specific integration requirements are mentioned in the available documentation.
