About this opportunity
The Town of Greenburgh, New York is requesting sealed bids for installation of approximately 200 linear feet of new sidewalk and associated work on Henry Street, with bids due August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Addendum No. 2, issued July 29, supersedes the original bid book and Addendum 1; bidders must acknowledge receipt and submit the signed addendum with their bid or face potential rejection.
The scope includes sidewalk replacement with fiber-reinforced Class "D" concrete, six-inch subbase course, new concrete curb installation with depressed sections at driveways, full-depth pavement removal and sawcuts, asphalt overlay, tree pruning to acceptable horticultural standards, detectable warning units at crosswalks, and traffic control. Construction requires maintenance of traffic with minimum 10-foot lane widths, daily trench backfilling, and roadway reopening to two 10-foot lanes during nighttime and weekend operations. All work must comply with New York State Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (2003 MUTCD with latest New York State Supplement) and New York State prevailing wage rates.
The contract term is 12 months from Notice to Proceed, with the Town retaining options to renew on identical terms for two additional one-year periods. Each bidder must submit a bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the base bid; the successful bidder must provide performance and labor-and-material payment bonds at 100% of contract price and a two-year maintenance bond at 100% of contract amount. Required insurance includes general liability ($2 million), automobile liability ($1 million), owners and contractors protective liability ($1 million), workers' compensation per state statute, and umbrella coverage ($5 million). Minority manpower utilization goals of 11.0 to 13.0 percent apply to applicable trades. No prior identical or substantially similar contracts have been awarded within five years. The award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder pursuant to New York General Municipal Law, based on contractor qualifications, experience, organization, finances, and past performance. Requests for Information are due August 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Contact Aaron Harewood, Town of Greenburgh Bureau of Engineering, at (914) 989-1582 or aharewood@greenburghny.gov.
