About this opportunity

The City of Tampa Wastewater Department is requesting sealed bids for inspection and preventive maintenance services on overhead cranes and hoists at the Howard F. Curren Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant (2700 Maritime Boulevard) and various pump stations throughout Tampa, with bids due September 1, 2026. A 5% bid discount (up to a maximum of $10,000) applies to City of Tampa–certified Small Local Business Enterprises (SLBEs) for evaluation purposes; no subcontracting goals have been established.

Bidders must hold a current Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation license, demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience in crane repair and service, and provide references from at least three similar projects completed within the past three years. The scope encompasses annual inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation of 33 cranes and hoists at the main facility and 9 additional units at pump stations, with capacities ranging from 1 to 30 tons. The pricing form requires line-item cost proposals across four categories: annual inspection and preventive maintenance per unit, hourly repair labor rates (estimated 80 hours annually), monthly inspection costs (11 times annually), and replacement parts pricing with markup not exceeding 10% of an $8,000 base amount.

The estimated contract value is $30,000. The contract term is one year from the effective date of award, with three optional one-year renewal periods by mutual written agreement, plus three additional thirty-day unilateral extension periods at the City's discretion. Bids will be opened after 3:00 p.m. on September 1, 2026, and results posted to the OpenGov eProcurement Portal. Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on an as-needed, when-needed basis with no minimum or maximum purchase requirements. Commercial General Liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million general aggregate is required, with the City named as additional insured. Government Purchasing Council members from Hillsborough County may also utilize this award.
