Onslow Water & Sewer Authority (ONWASA) is requesting bids for the installation of insertion valves on its water distribution system, with bids due October 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and a mandatory site visit on October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Haw Branch Road worksite. Bidders must hold a North Carolina contractor's license and demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience in water distribution system component installation, including insertion valves.
The scope encompasses complete labor, materials, equipment, and services for installation, testing, and commissioning of insertion valves at eight specified locations throughout the ONWASA service area in Orange County. The valves required are 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch diameter insertion valves meeting AWWA C515 or C509 standards, constructed of stainless steel with fusion-bonded epoxy coating. The selected contractor must complete all work within 60 consecutive calendar days of receiving the Notice to Proceed and obtain all necessary permits before work begins, with permit costs included in the proposal.
Contractors must carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance meeting ONWASA's coverage limits and provide proof of insurance at bid submission. The warranty covers a minimum of 90 days for workmanship and the full manufacturer's warranty period on materials. Bid submissions must include completed bid forms with vendor information, detailed cost breakdowns with extended unit prices, North Carolina contractor's license proof, Certificate of Insurance, and references for at least three similar projects completed within the last three years. All bidders must complete and notarize an E-Verify Affidavit and affirm compliance with the North Carolina Iran Divestment Act Certification.
