About this opportunity

The Illinois Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for routing, cleaning, and sealing longitudinal cracks in existing pavement along a 2,897-foot section of IL 126 (Lockport Street) in the Village of Plainfield, Will County, with bids due July 31, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. prevailing time via the iCX system. This is a federal-aid funded project (FAP 0349 23 C&J) subject to prevailing wage requirements under the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.

The scope includes routing and cleaning longitudinal cracks and areas between existing pavement and curb and gutter, sealing with specified materials, restriping with Modified Urethane marking lines, traffic control compliant with IDOT standards and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and all incidental work necessary to complete the project. The work location begins approximately 75 feet east of Wallin Drive and extends easterly to Main Street within the Village of Plainfield.

The contractor must complete all work within 15 working days and assume responsibility for normal maintenance of all existing roadways within the project limits beginning on the work start date. A Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of 0.00% has been established; however, bidders must still submit a DBE Utilization Plan and make good faith efforts documentation as required by 49 CFR Part 26. Additional compliance requirements include diesel retrofit emissions control for off-road equipment rated 50 horsepower and above, an Illinois Works Apprenticeship Initiative compliance plan documenting apprentice labor hours, weekly DBE trucking reports, subcontractor payment reporting, and submission of certified payroll records to the Illinois Department of Labor.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The project includes provisions for compensable delays and utility coordination, with engineer's field office services included.
