About this opportunity
Caltrans is seeking a contractor to provide emergency and routine identification and removal of hazardous waste and materials within the state right of way across District 5 Counties, specifically Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) requires a qualified contractor to perform comprehensive hazardous waste management services, including locating and removing underground storage tanks, containers, drums, and similar hazardous items. Critically, the scope excludes hazardous waste generated from vehicular collisions, accidents, and highway spills. The solicitation was posted on March 17, 2025, with proposals due by April 3, 2025. Potential bidders requiring accessible documentation can request materials by emailing ADAdocs@dot.ca.gov or calling (833) 713-2922. The complete service description is detailed in the Proposed Form of Agreement, Exhibit A, which is attached to the IFB.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly stated in the provided documentation, interested contractors should carefully review the complete solicitation package for potential enterprise requirements or participation guidelines. The procurement appears to be a standard competitive bid process targeting environmental remediation contractors with expertise in hazardous waste identification and removal. For contractors with accessibility concerns, Caltrans has provided a direct contact method to obtain alternative document formats. Although the exact budget range is not specified in the available information, this appears to be a potentially significant contract covering multiple counties within California's Central Coast region. Interested firms should thoroughly review the attached IFB Solicitation Package for comprehensive details on qualifications, submission requirements, and potential contract parameters.
