About this opportunity
The California Department of Pesticide Regulation is requesting bids for physician consulting services to support occupational health screening and pesticide-illness evaluation under IFB 26-C0020, with bids due August 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and written questions due July 24, 2026. A 5% small business preference applies to California Certified Small Businesses or non-certified bidders subcontracting a minimum of 25% of services to a certified small business; a 3% DVBE participation goal is encouraged.
The awardee must be a licensed physician in California with expertise in pesticide exposure, toxicology, and epidemiology, and must be fluent in Spanish to communicate with field workers and healthcare providers. Services include telephone and on-site medical consultations, evaluation of pesticide-related illnesses, and contributions to the Pesticide Illness Surveillance Program.
The contract value is capped at $191,724 over approximately 35 months beginning July 2026, subject to fund availability and departmental approval. DPR reserves the right to amend the budget and contract term. The award will be made to the lowest cost responsive responsible bidder meeting all IFB requirements.
Submission requires one electronic PDF copy viewable in Adobe Acrobat Reader, along with bid sheets, contractor status forms, a minimum of three client references, and compliance certifications. Travel and per diem reimbursement is limited to state maximums: $84 daily for lodging, $34 for meals, and $6 for incidentals, with actual costs for coach airfare and economy rental vehicles. The Notice of Intent to Award is scheduled for August 14, 2026. All bidders must comply with the Darfur Contracting Act, Iran Contracting Act, and California Civil Rights Laws.
