About this opportunity
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) services to be performed on an as-needed basis statewide. The selected Prime Contractor must have a minimum of 3 CIH and 2 Certified Asbestos Consultants (CAC) employees, and the principal business must be as an occupational health professional CIH company for at least 5 years. The services are necessary to identify when work conditions are not safe for DWR employees by testing for asbestos, lead, mold, and various other environmental issues. The Contractor must be able to respond to emergencies within 4 hours and have staff onsite for testing within 24 hours. Bids are due on April 19, 2024, and the anticipated contract start date is July 2024 for a term of 3 years. Pricing for the services is provided on an hourly rate basis with additional rates for laboratory testing.
The State has waived the Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) program requirements but will provide a DVBE incentive for those firms that utilize DVBE subcontractors. Small businesses may also receive a preference if they have applied for certification by the bid due date. Payments will be made within 45 days of receipt of an undisputed invoice. The estimated contract value or budget range is not provided in the information given.
