About this opportunity

Georgia Institute of Technology, a unit of the University System of Georgia, issued an RFQ on March 9, 2022 for an IDIQ contract to provide architectural services for athletic facility projects, with qualifications submittals due April 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The solicitation is now closed; shortlist selection was announced April 29, 2022 and final selection on May 5, 2022, with four firms selected: Beck Architecture Georgia LLC, HKS Inc., Menefee Architecture LLC, and The S/L/A/M Collaborative Inc.

The scope covers design, estimating, scheduling, and construction administration for small renovation projects, master planning studies, and minor capital projects ranging from $10,000 to $2,000,000 in construction costs. Services are delivered through Task Order, CM at Risk, Design Bid Build, Letter Bid, and Direct Award methods. Firms may propose as single architectural practices or integrated architectural and engineering teams. Sub-consultants in civil, structural, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing/fire protection engineering may be required depending on project scope. Preference is given to firms demonstrating specialty in college and university athletic facility design, sustainable design expertise, BIM familiarity, budget and schedule management capability, and successful experience with higher education clients.

The IDIQ contract term is approximately 12 months with a one-year renewal option at Georgia Tech's discretion. Total project value under any single consultant contract shall not exceed $5 million, with annual fees not exceeding $600,000 in any single year. Pricing is established through rate schedules submitted during interviews, utilizing hourly rates for Principal/Project Manager, Project Architect/Engineer, Assistant Project Architect/Engineer, and Administrative Assistant positions multiplied by a proposed markup percentage. Sub-consultant and reimbursable expenses are actual costs multiplied by the markup percentage. The Design Professional must maintain Professional Liability Insurance with $1 million per claim and $1 million aggregate limits, and Commercial General Liability Insurance with $2 million general aggregate and $1 million per occurrence.
