About this opportunity
The state and local contracting opportunity is for a self-propelled hydrostatic boom mower machine to be used by the City of Valdosta, Georgia in Lanier County. The city is seeking a new 143 HP boom mower that can maintain municipal right-of-ways on local and state roads, navigate steep embankments and soft ground surfaces while mowing roadsides and brush. The machine must meet various technical specifications, including the ability to interchange attachments such as a flail head, grass fork, and ditch bucket. The bid is due on February 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM EST, and the final purchase decision will be made by the Valdosta Mayor and Council if the total cost exceeds $25,000. The successful vendor must provide a list of at least five current users of the proposed equipment and agree to lock in pricing for any additional units ordered before March 31, 2025, although there is no guarantee of additional orders.
The bid solicitation does not include any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There are no listed incumbent vendors or current contractors, and the bid does not mention any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The bid documents do not provide a specific award value or budget range, but the requirement for Valdosta Mayor and Council approval for purchases exceeding $25,000 suggests the anticipated cost is in that range or higher.
