About this opportunity

The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids for hurricane impact windows installation at 17335 Short Street, Okeechobee, Florida under ITB-LD 146-2026, with bids due September 16, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. (ET) and a mandatory pre-bid conference on September 3, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. (ET) at the project site.

Bidders must hold current Florida state licensure as a Certified General Contractor, Certified Building Contractor, Certified Residential Contractor, or County Registered Contractor and demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in similar services. An existing active funded service agreement with the Tribe's Housing Department is required — a gatekeeping eligibility constraint.

The scope covers removal of twelve existing windows and installation of PGT or equivalent insulated sliding impact-rated windows with white frames compliant with Florida Building Code and Seminole Tribe Building Code standards; installation of corresponding screen enclosures for all twelve openings; removal of existing shutter systems; and repair, patching, and painting of compromised drywall and stucco areas to match existing finishes. Work must commence within forty-five calendar days of purchase order receipt and be completed within ninety calendar days.

Bidders must carry Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence, Automobile Liability insurance of $1 million, and Workers' Compensation insurance as required by law, with the Tribe listed as additional insured. Prices must remain fixed and firm for one hundred eighty calendar days from the bid due date.

The project falls under the Tribe's standard competitive bidding process for projects under $75,000. Evaluation prioritizes on-time and complete submissions, license requirements, projected completion dates, previous performance, and pricing against market comparisons. The Tribe reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and split awards among multiple contractors. Questions are due September 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. (ET). Electronic submissions are required through BidNet Direct.
