About this opportunity
The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority is soliciting sealed bids for the Hugh A. Wyckoff Generator Electrical Building HVAC Replacement project located at 3728 Mars Hill Road, Acworth, Georgia. This procurement involves the replacement of existing indoor and outdoor air conditioning units with computer-room air-conditioning (CRAC) systems at the facility's electrical building, which houses the plant's main electrical switchgear and automatic transfer switches for three emergency generators. The scope of work includes removal of existing HVAC units and associated refrigerant and condensate lines; installation of new CRAC units and refrigerant and condensate lines with PVC-coated insulation; removal and replacement of air handler and condenser circuits with new XHHW-2 wiring; removal and replacement of disconnect switches with 60A/3P disconnect switches; and installation of new input/output connections to integrate additional data points into the existing SCADA system. Sealed bids must be received by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority GMO Administration and Engineering Offices, 1170 Atlanta Industrial Drive, Marietta, Georgia 30066. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and only contractors who attend are eligible to submit bids. Written questions must be submitted by Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM, and addenda will be issued on Monday, November 24, 2025. Bidders must submit a Qualification Statement document with their bid, and all bids must include a five percent bid guarantee and remain valid for 60 days following the bid opening date.
The advertisement does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations eligible to respond, indicating this is a single prime contract with no disadvantaged enterprise or other preferential set-asides. The successful bidder will be the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined by the owner, who reserves the right to award the contract within 60 days of the bid opening or to reject any or all bids. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Georgia. No incumbent vendor or current contractor information is specified in the procurement documents. The integration of the new SCADA system connections into the existing electrical infrastructure is a critical technical requirement. No specific budget or award value range is provided in the posted documents, though the bid guarantee amount of five percent of the total maximum bid price suggests a substantial project cost.
