About this opportunity
The Plains Township Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for the Hudson Road Streetscape Project, a comprehensive infrastructure improvement initiative located in Plains, Pennsylvania. The project involves full sidewalk replacement on the west side of Hudson Road and partial sidewalk replacement on the east side, spanning the area from East Merritt Street to just past Rear Williams Street. Bidders must be PennDOT Prequalified and submit sealed proposals online via the PennBid Program by August 8, 2025, at 12:00 pm local time. Bids will be publicly opened at Verdantas offices in Wilkes-Barre and considered during the Plains Township Board of Commissioners meeting on August 14, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Each bid must include a bid security equal to 10% of the maximum bid price and all required forms, statements, affidavits, and certifications as specified in the bid documentation. Bidding documents are available at no cost on www.pennbid.net, and the project will be awarded as one prime contract with lump sum and unit price components.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned, the procurement process requires strict PennDOT prequalification for contractors. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the provided documentation. The project involves comprehensive streetscape improvements, including concrete sidewalk and curbing replacements, and ADA ramp installations. Although a specific budget range is not disclosed, the bid security requirement of 10% suggests a substantial project value. Contractors interested in bidding must carefully review all documentation, including the project manual, plans, and any addenda posted through the PennBid Program. The project appears to be a significant local infrastructure investment aimed at improving pedestrian infrastructure and accessibility along Hudson Road in Plains Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
