About this opportunity

Galesburg Augusta Community Schools (GACS) is seeking competitive sealed bids for the High School Tennis Courts Reconditioning Project through a Request for Bids (RFB) process. The project encompasses repair, resurfacing, and repainting of eight outdoor tennis courts located at Galesburg Augusta High School in Galesburg, Michigan. The scope of work includes comprehensive surface preparation involving cleaning and pressure washing, crack filling and leveling using acrylic patch binder and leveling compounds, and color finishing with textured acrylic resurfacer and sand-filled acrylic color coatings followed by line painting in accordance with American Sports Builders Association guidelines. Bidders must submit sealed bids by 1:00 pm on February 25, 2020, with public opening at the District Admin Office. The preferred project completion date is May 1, 2020, with final work hours and scheduling to be determined at a post-bid meeting to minimize disruption to tennis practices and games. Required qualifications include workers' compensation insurance coverage of $500,000 and liability coverage of $1,000,000, submission of three project references demonstrating capability, and compliance with all district safety rules and accident prevention protocols. Prospective bidders are encouraged to conduct site visits by contacting Frank Couch at 909-297-9242, and bid submissions must remain firm for 90 days following the bid opening date. Bid proposals must identify individual project tasks, estimated work-hours, major materials with specific manufacturer and brand names, total project cost, offered warranties, and estimated project timeline.

The Request for Bids does not identify any specific set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions limiting the types of organizations eligible to respond. Bidders must execute both a Familial Disclosure Affidavit and an Affidavit of Compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act (Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012). All materials used must be asbestos and lead-free, and contractors must comply with Galesburg Augusta Community Schools' established safety standards and accident prevention planning requirements. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documentation. The Request for Bids does not specify an estimated contract award value, budget range, or contract term. The district reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive irregularities, and accept comparable products meeting minimum quality specifications. Payment terms are net 30 unless otherwise negotiated.
