About this opportunity
The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting bids for Herman Miller Action Office Series II (AOII) parts with a due date of September 29, 2010. An in-state preference applies to Maine bidders or those offering products manufactured in Maine.
The scope covers modular office furniture components for two locations: Bangor and Rockland. The Bangor installation requires 85 fabric panels in multiple dimensions with Guilford of Maine 3497 Groove 022 Winter fabric, work surfaces constructed with Pionite Kale Fiber, connectors, draw rods, finished end kits, height fillers, flipper doors, wall tracks, mobile pedestals, power poles, power infeeds, and electrically adjustable components — approximately 150 yards of fabric. The Rockland installation specifies 63 fabric panels using cfstinson isis 074 Sage fabric with similar supporting components including worksurfaces, flipper doors with lighting, wall tracks, and adjustable table bases; fabric yardage for Rockland is to be determined. Both installations include refurbished components to enable cost management through reuse of existing inventory. Custom dimensions and configurations are tailored to each location's requirements, with powered panel options indicating integrated electrical systems.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value to the State, considering quality, conformance to specifications, delivery dates, and total cost. The State reserves the right to accept alternate commodities of equal quality and performance if bidders provide complete identification and descriptive literature. Unit prices must be submitted separately for each item. All transportation charges are prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise noted. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes. Sealed bids received after the opening date and time will not be considered.
