About this opportunity
Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is seeking competitive bids to furnish and deliver fifty (50) new, unused heavy-duty, high-back mesh chairs with flip-up armrests specifically engineered for law enforcement officers wearing utility belts and full duty gear. The chairs must feature an ergonomic high-back design with breathable mesh backing, reinforced frame, heavy-duty base, adjustable seat height with lumbar support, rolling wheels, black color finish, and a durable seat cushion rated for continuous use to accommodate extended seated use and back-mounted equipment support. All unit pricing must include freight and delivery costs on a FOB Destination basis with no separate freight charges permitted, and vendors must provide an estimated delivery date or lead time in calendar days from purchase order receipt; delivery timelines are considered essential to the contract, and failure to meet specified delivery schedules constitutes grounds for rejection and default termination. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder whose product meets all stated minimum specifications and delivery requirements, with "responsive" defined as meeting all stated specifications and submission requirements and "responsible" assessed based on the vendor's ability, experience, and integrity to successfully perform and deliver. The bid deadline is March 6, 2026, and bidders must register through the Bonfire platform to submit proposals; all forms must be accurately and fully completed with required signatures, dates, acknowledgments, and supporting documentation as specified, with quotes failing to meet minimum specifications deemed non-responsive and subject to rejection.
The procurement documents do not identify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or preferences that would limit eligible bidders to specific categories of organizations. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed in the solicitation materials, and there are no references to existing infrastructure or technology requiring integration with the delivered chairs. DART is exempt from federal excise taxes and state and local sales and use taxes, with applicable exemption certificates provided upon request; all purchase orders are subject to DART's standard Terms and Conditions with Net 30 payment terms, requiring invoices submitted in triplicate to APInvoices@dart.org. The specific award value or total contract budget range is not disclosed in the available procurement documents, though the quantity of fifty (50) chairs and the requirement for FOB Destination pricing including all freight and delivery costs can be used to estimate pricing. All vendors must comply with equal opportunity employment provisions, certify non-involvement with foreign terrorist organizations, and verify non-boycott of Israel, with the governing law established as the State of Texas and venue in Dallas County.
