About this opportunity
The Charlevoix Public Schools in Michigan have issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the project of connecting the heating system to the previously installed heated sidewalk tubing at the Charlevoix Elementary School's front entrance. The project includes the installation of a heat exchanger, expansion tank, glycol fill station, snowmelt heating pump, and glycol & pot feeder, as well as electrical work, pipe insulation, controls, and field coordination. Sealed bids are due by March 11, 2024, at 2 p.m., and a pre-bid meeting will be held on February 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. The successful bidder will be required to provide worker's compensation, property and liability, and auto insurance, and comply with the school district's policies regarding drug-free zones and criminal background checks.
The use of local labor and suppliers is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. The bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the school board or superintendent. The school district reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in part or in total, and to waive any informalities in the bids. The successful bidder will be required to guarantee the proposal for no less than 60 days. No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond are mentioned, and the RFP does not provide any information on incumbent vendors, current contractors, or budget ranges.
