About this opportunity
Hartland Consolidated Schools (Michigan) is requesting sealed bids on a district-wide door replacement project divided into two proposals—Proposal A for Hartland High School and Proposal B for Creekside, Farms, and HESSC—with bids due October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the district office in Howell. General contractors only are eligible. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 30, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Hartland High School, with attendance optional but recommended.
Bid documents will be distributed by the project architect, French Associates, Inc., via email beginning September 25, 2026 to contractors who request them. Questions are due by 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2026. All bids must remain open and irrevocable for 60 days from the due date.
Each proposal requires two copies of the completed Form of Proposal and a bid guarantee—either a bid bond from a U.S. Treasury Listed Surety Company or a certified check equal to at least 5% of the base bid payable to Hartland Consolidated Schools. For bids exceeding $50,000, submission of the bid bond or certified check is mandatory. The successful bidder must furnish satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds.
All bidders must submit a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationships between the bidder, its employees, and any member of the Hartland Consolidated Schools Board of Education or superintendent, in compliance with MCL 380.1267. The district reserves the right to award to other than the low bidder, reject any or all bids, waive informalities, or accept any bid when it serves the district's best interests. The estimated contract value and detailed scope specifications are not disclosed in the available bid notice.
