About this opportunity
The State of Maryland is requesting quotes for quarterly professional grease trap pumping services at the Thomas B. Finan Center in Cumberland, with quotes due September 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., and a pre-quote meeting scheduled for September 23 at 1:00 p.m.
The scope covers vacuum pumping of a 630-gallon underground grease trap serving the facility's dietary department, which operates continuously and provides meals to approximately 125 residents plus breakfast and lunch to approximately 40 students during the school year. Service is required quarterly beginning in early October 2026. The contractor must haul waste to an authorized facility and provide manifests, proof of service, and detailed composition reports. The facility currently applies bio-remediation chemicals monthly on approximately the third Monday. Contractors must notify the facility immediately upon discovery of any increase in waste volume requiring more frequent pumping, changes in bio-remediation treatment needs, or damage to the grease trap or its cover.
The contract term runs from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with three one-year renewal options available subject to 30-day written cancellation notice by either party. Prospective contractors must provide pricing for four consecutive years through September 30, 2030. Quotes should be submitted electronically to Christopher Benson, Agency Buyer II, at christopher.benson@maryland.gov. Inquiries regarding the solicitation should be directed to the same contact.
