The scope includes disinterment of remains for Ivy Jean Brown, William Brown, and Guy Douglas Brown; provision of grave markers with lettering and setting; transportation across approximately five miles from Brown Cemetery to Prater-Preston Cemetery in Salyersville, Kentucky; reinterment of remains; removal and reset of the Brown Monument; and ground clearance and brush removal. The contractor must open and close reinterment plots, seed and straw grounds, pour monument footers, set monuments, and supply all necessary equipment at both disinterment and reinterment locations. All 15 line items on the attached bid sheet must be bid to be considered for award. The contractor must be prepared to replace any vault if deterioration or damage is discovered during disinterment, with vault replacement costs subject to contract modification. The contractor must provide a performance bond equal to 100 percent of contract price (or $20,000 minimum), commercial general liability insurance with $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate limits, and workers' compensation insurance if applicable. Written questions are due October 26, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., with responses anticipated by October 30. Prospective bidders may contact Amy Ishmael at 606-291-9641 to view cemetery locations prior to submission; no mandatory on-site meeting will be held.
