About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued an electronic Request for Information (eRFI) seeking vendor solutions for the creation of a centralized Utility geodatabase that leverages the Department's enterprise IT and GIS platforms. This procurement is designed to identify methods for storing, consolidating, and maintaining utility data by integrating current information from GDOT applications and systems into the Department's enterprise GIS platform. Key deliverables and objectives include identifying viable marketplace solutions that address GDOT's specific needs for utility data management, further defining technical and functional requirements, establishing realistic budgets, and developing implementation plans. The RFI was posted on September 26, 2022, with a deadline for submission of October 11, 2022. GDOT intends to use responses from this eRFI to inform future procurement decisions and may request demonstrations of proposed systems and components from selected vendors. Qualified suppliers who provide compelling solutions may be notified by GDOT to participate in subsequent solicitations that could result in implementation contracts.
The RFI document does not specify set-aside designations or restrictions limiting responses to particular types of organizations or disadvantaged enterprises. No incumbent vendors, current contractors, or existing infrastructure requirements are identified in the available procurement documentation. Similarly, the RFI does not disclose potential award values or specific budget ranges, as the primary purpose of this information-gathering solicitation is to establish baseline requirements and cost parameters rather than to commit funds at this stage. Interested suppliers should note that participation in responding to this RFI does not guarantee selection for future contract opportunities, though positive submissions may lead to invitations to participate in subsequent, more formal competitive procurement processes.
Opportunity text
This electronic Request for Information (eRFI) is being issued to solicit information from interested suppliers with respect to creating a centralized Utility geodatabase leveraging the Department enterprise IT and GIS platforms as further described in this eRFI. GDOT will use the information generated by this eRFI in conjunction with other information available to GDOT to determine the solution that it is in the best interest of GDOT to fulfill this need. The purpose of this eRFI is to find a method to store and consolidate current utility data and maintain new utility data by integrating current information within GDOT application/systems to the Department enterprise GIS platform. GDOT desires to identify what solutions and suppliers currently exist in the marketplace to meet GDOT needs. This RFI will assist GDOT in further defining requirements, budget, and implementation plans. Potential suppliers may be notified by GDOT to participate in future solicitations which may lead to a contract with GDOT for implementation. GDOT may request a demonstration of the system and components described in this submission after a review of the eRFI submissions.
