About this opportunity
The Greater Holladay Improvement District (GHID) is seeking a certified public accounting firm to provide external audit services for its year-ending financial statements for December 31, 2025. The primary objective of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to engage an audit firm that can thoroughly examine and validate the district's financial records. Qualified firms must demonstrate expertise in governmental financial auditing and possess the necessary certifications to conduct comprehensive financial statement reviews. The proposal is structured as a potential multi-year engagement, with the initial contract covering the 2025 audit and the possibility of extending services for two subsequent years, with a maximum potential contract term of five years. The RFP was posted on August 15, 2025, with proposals due by September 12, 2025, giving potential bidders approximately 28 days to prepare and submit their comprehensive audit service proposals. The district's audit committee will annually recommend continuation of services to the Board of Trustees, with retention based on the auditor's performance quality and tenure.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the provided documentation. The procurement appears open to qualified certified public accounting firms with demonstrated governmental audit experience. While no incumbent vendor was identified, the RFP suggests a preference for continuity, allowing the selected firm to potentially provide audit services for up to three consecutive years, with possible extensions. The district's Board of Trustees maintains discretion in contract extensions, with a maximum five-year term before re-bidding the contract. Although a specific budget range was not provided, governmental audit services typically range from $10,000 to $50,000 annually, depending on the complexity of financial records and the size of the governmental entity. Interested firms should carefully review the attached RFP document (1-RFP Audit 2025.docx) for detailed submission requirements and evaluation criteria.
Opportunity text
The purpose of this RFP is to enter into a contract with a certified public accounting firm to provide external audit services for the District for year ending financial statements December 31,2025. If the selected certified public accounting firm performs satisfactorily for the December 31, 2025, audit, it is anticipated that the same firm will be engaged to perform the audit for the subsequent two (2) years. After the 3rd year, The District's policy allows the Board of Trustees to extend the contract on a year-to-year basis for a maximum contract term of five (5) years from the December 31, 2025, audit. After the contract term has expired, the District will bid out audit services again. Each year during the contract term, the District's audit committee will recommend to the Board of Trustees whether the Board should retain the services of the firm during a public board meeting. This recommendation will be based on tenure of the auditor as well as quality of work produced.
