About this opportunity
The state and local contract opportunity is for a gas meter relocation project for the Textiles Service Administration Laundry Facility in Orange County, Florida. The procurement is being conducted by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and requires a comprehensive gas service installation involving a new meter/regulator set. Specific project deliverables include excavation, backfill, surface restoration, piping, tie-ins, painting, and coating as detailed in the contract documents. A critical qualification for bidders is obtaining MEA Energy Association Qualifications. The project's key objectives include establishing a new gas service line located at the northwest corner of the TSA Laundry building, east of Bonnet Creek Drive, with the new meter/regulator set to be placed north of the building along the fence. A non-mandatory pre-bid and site visit meeting is scheduled for November 21, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the project site, and bids must be submitted electronically through the District's PlanetBids platform by the due date of December 4, 2024.
The bid announcement indicates preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses, suggesting potential set-aside considerations for these business categories. Prospective vendors must register on the PlanetBids platform to submit questions and bids, with the District noting partnerships with other governmental entities to share vendor information. While specific award values are not explicitly stated in the documentation, the project involves infrastructure modification for a laundry facility, which implies a potentially significant scope of work. The procurement process emphasizes electronic submission and encourages vendor registration to access broader bidding opportunities. No incumbent vendors are specifically mentioned in the available documentation, and the project appears to be focused on new infrastructure installation rather than replacement or modification of existing systems.
